Remote Control By Jack Heath 9/10

Another awesome book by an awesome author. This book continues the story of Agent Six of Hearts, the ninja-like (Person? Animal?) being fighting to take back The City. In The Lab, Six and his brother Kyntak find their baby sister, who they name Nai. At the start of the book, however, we learn that she is kidnapped. From the first chapter, the whole book explodes with action, as Six and Kyntak infiltrate a warehouse of people smugglers, looking for their sister. They don't find her, and Six's search is waylaid by a new development: a prisoner has escaped from the Deck's holding cells. Six, Kyntak, and all of the Deck's best agents go to an apartment block belonging to a man who left his blood on the ground at the scene of the escape. The agents are ambushed though, and in the confusion Kyntak is captured. On top of that, the Queen of Spades is trying to capture Six, believing him to be a traitor. Six manages to escape the Deck without being apprehended, and goes to find Kyntak. In a stunning turn of events however, Six himself is captured. Six and Kyntak manage to escape, but the man who started the whole shebang manages to worm out of Six's clutches. The book ends on a mega twist that I won't reveal here, but it left me really wanting to read the next book in the series. Remote Control was very well written. It had the insane action of a summer blockbuster, but also had some profound themes that really left me thinking. This book was well worth the read, and would make a great gift for an action lover. I's rate it an excellent 9/10.

  1. Definitely one of my favourite books - it's a shame Third Transmission isn't out in the US yet. It's definately the best in the series, if you need something to look forward to :)

  2. Oh, so that's why I couldn't find it. I had been looking for Third Transmission, but just could not find it anywhere. I'll be sure to review it as soon as it gets released in the US
