Remote Control By Jack Heath 9/10

Another awesome book by an awesome author. This book continues the story of Agent Six of Hearts, the ninja-like (Person? Animal?) being fighting to take back The City. In The Lab, Six and his brother Kyntak find their baby sister, who they name Nai. At the start of the book, however, we learn that she is kidnapped. From the first chapter, the whole book explodes with action, as Six and Kyntak infiltrate a warehouse of people smugglers, looking for their sister. They don't find her, and Six's search is waylaid by a new development: a prisoner has escaped from the Deck's holding cells. Six, Kyntak, and all of the Deck's best agents go to an apartment block belonging to a man who left his blood on the ground at the scene of the escape. The agents are ambushed though, and in the confusion Kyntak is captured. On top of that, the Queen of Spades is trying to capture Six, believing him to be a traitor. Six manages to escape the Deck without being apprehended, and goes to find Kyntak. In a stunning turn of events however, Six himself is captured. Six and Kyntak manage to escape, but the man who started the whole shebang manages to worm out of Six's clutches. The book ends on a mega twist that I won't reveal here, but it left me really wanting to read the next book in the series. Remote Control was very well written. It had the insane action of a summer blockbuster, but also had some profound themes that really left me thinking. This book was well worth the read, and would make a great gift for an action lover. I's rate it an excellent 9/10.

Scoring System

I've decided that what this blog needs is a scoring system! That would really set me apart from the other book reviewing sites, wouldn't it? So, without further ado, I give you- the scoring system!

1- Absolutely horrible. Not worth it if it were free. Just cleanse it with fire. LOTS of fire.
2- Still pretty bad. Needs work on the writing, the parts of speech, and the content. Writer should be sent back to 2nd grade.
3- Well, its.... okay. Still not worth a purchase, but if it's from the library, it's worth a read. Mostly Hardy Boys.
4- An alright book. Still needs a little work, but a good gift for someone you don't really like.
5- Average. Like those business books that use a lot of boring words.
6- A pretty good read. Still needs a little work, but all in all, a fairly decent book.
7- Also quite good. Not amazing, but worth an afternoon
8- A good book. Has an interesting story, interesting characters, and well worth buying and reading a few times.
9- Almost perfect. Has excellent writing and is definitely worth reading at least 4 or 5 times.
10- The best book EVAR! Has superb everything. Sells copies in terms of the Bible. Is read all over the world. The writer is interviewed on every talk show everywhere. Even extraterrestrial life loves it. It is that awesome.

The Lab by Jack Heath

The Lab was a very intense book. It kept me on the edge of my desk the whole time I was reading it. It follows Agent Six of Hearts, who we learn was the product of a genetic experiment. As a result, he can run amazingly fast, has superhuman strength, and can survive the eventually deadly smog of the mega city in which he lives. That's right, a gigantic city controlled by and evil corporation called ChaoSonic. This corporation makes EVERYTHING from the guns to the armor to the boots to the clothes of the enemies that Six of Hearts faces. This evil corporation even owns the food that people eat. However, the agents of the secret vigilante corporation The Deck, which Six belongs too, is dedicated to freeing the people of the city, no matter what it takes. This book is actually very well written, considering that the author, Jack Heath, wrote this book while in high school. He has also published two sequels, which I will review when the library gets them. Heh Heh. Anyhow, I've included the URL to Amazon and Borders where you can buy the book below. Happy Reading!
